Here are free resources for you to file your taxes from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Boston Tax Help Coalition has teamed up with to provide remote tax preparation, assisted by certified VITA volunteers. Unless you are filing a 2016 return or anticipate owing money this year, you can file until October 15th without a penalty. If you aren’t sure whether or not you will owe, you can complete and mail this IRS form by July 15th requesting an extension.
